We’re Back: With some extra Barn and Camp

Had a good thing going here, but school simply got in the way of this blog.  Got out Monday, so now I am back.  The Cubs have changed a lot since I last posted here, going from decent, to quite frankly, terrible.  We were first place back on the day of the double header against San Diego, but now the only first place we are close to is the race for the 1st overall draft pick, awarded to the team with the worst record in Major League Baseball.  Rounds 2-30 of the Major League Baseball First Year Players Draft occurred today, with the first round yesterday, and rounds 31-50 tomorrow.  Here is a list of all of our picks so far, with sons of famous athletes bolded:

Trevor Gretzky is son of NHL great Wayne Gretzky, and Shawon Dunston is the son of the former Cub of the same name.  Speaking of the NHL, the Atlanta Thrashers have relocated to Winnipeg, bringing Dustin Byfuglien, Andrew Ladd, and some former Blackhawks staff with them.  Sale and relocation will be made official on June 21st, pending NHL Board of Governors approval.

Brett Jackson has returned from injury for AA Tennessee, where 12 players were named to the Southern League All-Star Game today, and we’ll be keeping our eye on his performance in his route to join the major league team this season.
